        Types ▬ Colours and Shadow Illusions
 
Colour and shadow illusions depend on the way we see and compare things like contrast, colours and the edges of things.

Look at the example below, stare at the middle of picture with black squares (the picture on the left) for 15-30 seconds. Did you really see those dots appear at the corners of the squares? What happens if you focus on a dot? Now look at the middle of the picture with the white squares (the picture on the left) . Do you see dots again? Do you see little shadows in the intersections? What colour are they?

The shadows appeared were caused by light receptors in our eyes which allow us to see high contrast images, the fuzzy spots are caused by lazy eyes! Sometimes these are also afterimages.
